Blizzard unveils StarCraft Remastered

This will sell so well.

Edited: Oh I see they just up-ressed the graphics. Thought it would be in the new engine.

A long time ago Blizzard decided to abolish LAN into the same age as DOS. My gut tells me, even though they stated that the remastered edition will support LAN that it will require everyone to be BattleTagged.
 
Look im the biggest Blizzard fan. I live for their RTS games. I just wonder why though? Did they lose faith in SC2? Will this split the competitive gaming scene now?

Nonetheless I will be jamming it when it comes out. I just wish Dota would include a Peon. With a big mining axe he will solve all problems before him.

As far as I know there are still quite a few Brood War tournaments on the go in Korea, keeping the mechanics the same means that it looks nicer and cleaner for E-sports but won't affect the skill sets of the competitive Brood war players.

I installed the free edition on my kids' PC. They created the necessary battletag for it. I can see their tag show up as a user near me when my 8 yo is playing. Talking of which, if other players only knew it was a rank novice they were teamed up with in Co-op... :)

That answers my Q, I think. So this remaster is the original game (called SC1 & expansion) that are getting souped up. This is something to look forward to.

I think you have to send a message to RPM. I'm not sure if the other Mods can do it.
