Block file to access internet

I want to block a file to access the internet. I am using WinXP pro. Is it possible? Thanks

You mean you want to block an application?

Download Sygate and use it to block the offending application.

yup, very is easy to do with Sygate Personal Firewall.

Only problem with Sygate is it keeps on popping up messages saying the connection was blocked even when you tick "don't show this message again". Anyone know how to stop that?

you can also edit your hosts file and put IP 127.0.0.1 for the site you are trying to block. Obviusly, if a user knows what they are doing they can reverse the change.

If you have a router some (DG834GT) allow you to block certain web sites.
