Morning all

It could be that some gremlins came during the past few weeks and messed up my iptables, but it looks as though alot of ports have been blocked.

When I run http://www.utorrent.com:16000/testport2.php?port=22 it goes through. Port 443 is also open, but the rest is all blocked. I have set my INPUT's chain default to ACCEPT, but that didn't help either.

Can anyone confirm this?

Which ports are restricted on iBurst network?

Due to excessive DoS attacks and worm traffic, the following ports will be
restricted: tcp 445, 135, 139, 1433, 1434; udp 1433, 1434. Furthermore,
peer to peer traffic is shaped on most iBurst packages. SMTP relaying on
port TCP 25 is restricted to authorised SMTP relays only.

Let us know which ports you find blocked and which tower you are connecting via...

Regards

Mike

I always used port 1234 for my torrents. It used to work, whether shaped or not. I just noticed it this norning that uTorrent complains about not being able to receive incoming connections.

On my gentoo box I only forward the ports I need and reject the rest.

I connect to the Langenhoven Park tower in Bloemfontein.

Yes... which in my case is just great!
1433 is the default port for SQL Server. Great for business if you need to support a client.
So we ended up changing the SQL Ports on all our clients...

And due to these port restrictions does iBurst really think they are making a dent in 'DoS attacks and worm traffic' ??????
