Using the huawei router e5331

Need settings or advice to block:
1. windows + tablet updates.
2. tolerant downloads.

Most of the companies block these updates on their networks, so when their work laptops hit out mobile routers (during training) they drain our data bundles.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

I've been talking to the agents, and it seems that these devices are not very configurable. (I wanted mine to power up when connected to power, and shut down after a few minutes when power was turned off)

I'd suggest that you put a decent Linux-based AP in front of the E5331, and do the filtering there. Something like a TPLink WR703N will be able to talk to the E5331, as well as be an AP and do filtering as needed. If you can't get the 703N, GL.Inet have a really nice piece of kit very similar in form and price. (It's actually nicer, so if you are sourcing new kit, the GL.Inet one is where I'd start)

Many thanks for this info. Definitely going to check this out.
