Home sweet home :)
i have a nokia phone. it use to work with a MTN simcard so i presume it may be network locked. i've put a Vodacom simcard into it on the weekend and it was working 100%. this morning at about 11am i wanted to call someone, and as i was scrolling through the numbers on my phone, the phone froze. agter moering it and shouting it eventually came alive again (defrosted) but a few seconds later it said SIM REJECTED. now thats all it says, i've tried taking it apart and putting it back together again. but still the moment you put it on, even before you put the pincode in, it says SIM REJECTED. could this be because it mayu be a MTN blocked phone? if yes, why did it work 4 days? if no, how do i fix it?

i dont have the mtn simcard anymore thats why i asked here now. will take it to vodacom and say "eish she's broken" maby they can fix it :)

Do you have the phone from new , or is it a secondhand purchase , usually when a phone logs onto network and losses signal a few seconds later with "sim registration failed" one of 2 possible reasons

1. phone is blacklisted
2. simcard expired

Sorry , i misread your problem , looks like software/hardware problem on your phone

That usually indicates a hardware issue. Most likely your sim is buggered or not making good contact.

this is a typical response from a customer support desk. why? cause most people will say eish and then have the phone replaced letting vodacom have more money for nothing....

infact i went to Vodashop yesterday and showed the lady at the counter what happens, within 3 seconds she said "you need a new sim" i asked how much is that she said are you on contract or prepaid, after saying i'm on contract she checked on her computer and 5 minutes later i walked out with a brand new simcard, an hour later my phone and simcard was working 100%. and yes i think she should be the next CEO of vodacom because she didnt try to make money, she tried to help me and she did, fast, and to the point. i was very impressed. :)
