I'm currently trying to integrate a blogging feature into a site that I'm working on for our fishing club, so I need a bit of advice please.

What is the easiest blogging software to use and integrate into an existing site?
It can be very basic as long as we can have fellow members blog then all is good.

Okay, so I went ahead and installed WordPress, seems like it will meet all my needs.

Now all I need is a good template for a fly-fishing site. If anyone knows of one, please inform me.
:o

The web-devs here will probably pull out their hair, but so far I have settled with the stock theme and only modified the look a little bit.

For my untrained eye it looks pretty good, will post results here later, will first have to remove old site, it is terribly dated!
:o

/me knows 0 php...
:(

Looks decent, plus the standard 2011 theme's responsive, however the background image is beeeg at 480kb. Especially for a mobile user.
I see the resolutions is quite large, so try resizing it to a smaller image (maybe 60-70% of current size).

The other benefit of using 2011 is that most 'create a custom theme' tutorials use 2011 as a starting point, so it'd be easy to follow them

The issue with the bg is that if I make it a little smaller it will tile and look terrible. I'll try and resizing it again and see where that leads me.

I was thinking of a resize then stretch approach, but that requires some CSS hacking on your stylesheet. Stretching it has the advantage that it'll always resize to fit the container, but I might just be talking rubbish anyways. I saw your member registration form also needs some tweaking, I'll try do that for you if I get a chance and then give you the CSS to try change. I'll post a screenshot when I do it so you can decide before patching

I'm slowly but surely learning my way with WordPress.

I'm not sitting with a issue where my 404.php is not displaying when a 404 is requested.

If anyone can point me in a direction to troubleshoot this I would be grateful.
:)
