Hey,

I'm looking for a Blu Ray burner for a Mac Pro. Anyone installed one yet? If so, have you any suggestions on brand etc? Also, who would supply the Blu Ray media?

blu ray

have a look at the lacie.com website, they have a blu ray recorder available. locally available from the CT distributor.

AFAIK any PC BD should work altho one of the ones in the link above
comes with free Toast Titanium.

I'm not so sure about that - the Mac's firmware can be finicky about it. I don't know if things changed with the Intels but with the PPCs you had to have a drive that has the apple certified (or whatever) firmware on, otherwise it just wouldn't see it.

I flashed my Apple SONY DVD-R/RW drive to its Generic Region Free
NEC version, no issues :). Mac Pro's do recognise any SATA HDD you
throw at it. A post on one of the US Mac Forums should be made to
to double check :)
