I'm looking at getting a Blu Ray drive for my htpc, have two options of latest drives.
The one is only a BD rom, the other can write to Blu-Ray disks.
Looking at the price of BD media, it's flippin expensive, cheapest I found was 5 pack for R200.
I will use it mainly to playback Blu-ray's and also backup a few BD's to hard drive, what would you guys recommend I get, should I wait for prices too come down?

CH08LS10 - LG CH08LS10 50GB BluRay reader /DVD/CD Writer - BD-R 8x, DVD Rom 16x - Black (Retail), LightScribe DVD/CD supported @ R1289 excl. VAT

BH10LS30 - LG BH10LS30 50GB BluRay/DVD/CDWriter - BD-R 10x, BD-RE 2x, DVD±R 16x, DVD±RW 8x, DVD±DL 4x - 4MB Buffer, Black (Retail), Lightscribe @ R1999 excl. VAT

4 months down the line, still not a worthwhile option for BD-Writer?

I see that Sahara has a BD writer (LG) for R1299 ex VAT.

Worthwhile?

Buy the writer, won't always be this expensive. In 6 months time you will feel a right chop because you have to purchase a writer.
