a Friend got a lot a blu rays and a media centre working off some hard drives. He wants to but the movies/ concerts on the hard disk. He ask me how to, Surely he will need a pc with a blu ray drive, in order to read it first, which he does not have.

Answer:
He needs a blu ray drive.
 
He bought blu ray movies and some music concerts, he plays it on a blu ray player. He wants to copy it to this media player.
 
Could you not perhaps google blue ray rip???

There's plenty of software for what you want to do, you just got to look for the right one. Plenty of freeware too...

Why did he buy/steal/borrow the blu rays if he doesn't have a player?
