'Blue light imposter' nabbed after hijacking

Cape Town – A gang pretending to be police officers pulled over a motorist in Ivory Park, Midrand and hijacked his vehicle, according to the SA Police Service Facebook page on Saturday.

The group put a blue light on their vehicle to look official and held up the Ford Ranger at traffic lights in Kaalfontein on Friday.

According to SAPS, one of the suspects drove the hijacked vehicle off while three others fled in their vehicle.

Officers spotted the getaway vehicle on Republic Road and chased it to a cul-de-sac.

The gang got out and fled in different directions.

A 37-year-old man was arrested.

According to the statement, officers recovered two sports bags with various firearms and ammunition, six channel jamming devices, two police reflector jackets, gloves and cables.

And this is why I don't stop for them! Drive to a VERY public place then stop and see if they conduct their business. **** their VW polo's won't catch a Porsche anyways.

Dude I don't care what my rights are! My right is to live, and live free. If there is no obvious cause for the stop then cheers, get me at the mall. And bump me during chase/following, I'll write my car off against yours, and will try and kill you in the process.

You may need to educate yourself on the law my boy... you are proposing a very dangerous solution that will either get you killed or you will end up in jail... regardless of whether the stop was from legit cops or not.

Very true this, thinking people could potentially be arrested if it was legit cops.
