Hi,

the last week or so when I try to run a video clip (no matter which one) the pc will give me the blasted blue screen. The error message reads : "Driver_IRQL_IS_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUEL"

What does this mean?

My personal experience with these kinda errors usually means I need to reload windows to fix it or its hardware that will be needed to removed (flashed) or software updated.
In this case I believe its a driver conflicting. I had the same type of problem when I had a DivX and XviD codec installed. Conflicts :( bad bad bad

got the same card...it's a shot in the dark but do you have a SB Live in your machine? Many of the other ppl with this problem have blamed SB Live drivers...

sb live is part of your creative sound card its a onboard chip i think? on the card self

I guess I must do this the hard way. open up and unclick/reclick all components.

update : ok, instead of doing the above I did this :

System Mechanic also made it bomb out the whole time (no error message just restarts). I ran SM under safe mode and then ran it under normal mode. It finally ran all the way through. Will try to run a video clip now and see if all is ok. Here's holding thumb and toes

no luck. also did unclick, reclick, still does it

Well, what exactly that error message means could range from driver conflicts to anal sex with many, many midgits simultaneously.

But, yes in this case it probably is a problem with your video codecs, card or um.. maby windows, but you could probably sort it out while keeping the same install of windose. try uninstalling all of your codecs and starting from scratch with just some FD-show player and FD show for codecs (problem is may codecs dont unistall fully) or try out downloading the newest nvidia drivers. Probably wont help though... formatting might just be the easiest, chances are you need a good format any way.

If you asked me about this almost a year ago when I had the same problem i could have given you the answer instead of a ramble about midgits, but I thauhgt it was time to introduce them into MyADSL anyway.. Ive totally forgotten what I did to resolve this, however I did not have to format.. maby I just got a new graphics card?

Oh and does this apply to even Real media and quick time files openign in their native players?
