Hello! I'm about to go and buy 3 usb-bluetooth dongles the 100m ones.

I would like to network 3 computers in the same room. One is has access to internet and printers ect, and the other two are laptops.

what do you rate my chances of success with this little project?

My friend and I linked our two PCs using bluetooth dongles. Don't know if you'll be able to link three with each other. I think the connection is one-on-one only but I could be wrong.

Speed wise, I could download files from his PC at an amazing speed of a third of a Meg a second. :p

I also hosted some BF1942 and he was connecting at a ping of 40.

Bluetooth speed sucks BIGTIME. You are better off spending the money on wifi cards. It realy is worth the extra money. Or just lay down some cables....sure beats battling with signal and low quality wifi cards (gray models of gray models).

well you can do it, normally each bluetooth dongle supports 8 simultaneous connections, so networking 3 pc's should be fine, speed is crap tho, and pings can get worse than shaped ADSL.!

i've seen usb wifi g for sale on the internet for like R200, a much better option! Course i've never got my hands on one of these good deals but its worth a look!

bluetooth networking for ics is a real mission to get it going
easier to go wifi

if you doing bluetooth networking , theres alot configurations to do

Bluetooth is rubbish for networking. I had problems with devices not picking each other up and of course the speed is terrible. Go 4 WiFi

I have two pc's with dongles and one of those I swap with a laptop, it works, I can tansfer files and use one pc to store data etc. Compared to sentech download speeds I get about 80KB/s when transfering files - couldn't get starcraft to work though. Someday I'll get proper wireless cards.
