bluetooth dead ?

I got a Motodefy.
It seems the bluetooth is death.
How to one test it.
It is not visible and will not send to other devices. They also cannot see me.
Still the standard 2.2 android.
I did download some apps and use it the last time with a headset for long.
I did restart the phone.
I mainly use it to send pics and to talk on the headset.

Factory reset

Factory reset means root all over again,

Is cm7 not a easier way out.
Or, must I root that as well.

Well, you must be rooted to load CM7, you will stay rooted after that.
Also, Factory reset won't remove root.

I did reset it, ok now [bluetooth] . thank you.
I did download cm7 [beta3.rar] but phone did not see it. should it be a zip file.
