So who has got their "key" yet to win the chance of driving this car for a year...

may someone from MyBB win this

Link

Cheers

I see it requires a Facebook or Twitter account and seems heavily involved with social media.

I'll pass.

Eh, I'll sign up for the hell of it. Really not a BMW fan though to be honest.

Edit : the terms etc are in app. Basically, two challenges a week, with draws to decide on finalists. These then progress to a track day where they get judged on ability and the best one wins. I'm going to uninstall it however, as I'm not interested in signing any loan agreements on a prize car that I'd use for a year.

Most definitely not a BMW fan, but I will enter as soon as I get home - all social media sites are blocked at work.

BMW 2 Series....what happened to the BMW 0.5 Series, and the 1.5?

Rather just buy an old Astra or cycle, and invest in property which increases in value 2.5x

Here are pics of the first few conditions that kill it for me.

2 series replaces the old 1-series coupe.

I'm not bothered by the setup itself honestly, I'm just very wary of that loan agreement you'd have to sign. I wouldn't want to end up winning a loan I'd have to pay off even if it does give you a car for that year.

You obviously have to insure the car, and I could live with just paying insurance for a year! :)

Agreed. That's the issue I'm having, what is the purpose of the loan agreement exactly? Do you still have to pay an actual monthly rental on the car? Do you just need to sort out insurance? Is the loan agreement just a technicality to get you legal use etc?

I have to handle that side with Subaru test vehicles and there is a 4 page document that has to be signed to make it all legal - Insurance is your baby, and they look after the rest. In the case of Road Test cars, the journalists are covered for insurance as well. In this case, I think it's reasonable to expect you to pay for your own insurance, as you are essentially getting a new car for "free" for a year.

I will post the agreement here after I have signed it. ;)

Ah I see, thanks for clearing that up. I just saw "loan agreement" and instantly assumed it would involve actual car payments as part of the "prize". Insurance I have no issue in paying though, leave it to the resident car dealer McPerson!

Reinstalling now...

What happened to marketing competitions in the good old days when companies would actually give away a car, not just lend it to you for a year? Even radio stations used to routinely run advertising competitions for big cash prizes, cars, holidays, etc, now they make a huge deal out of a R1000 competition.

Aye I thought the same. Merc had a similar one where you got to drive the new A-Class for a year and back then I said the same, why not give? Competition feels kinda meh.

On the subject of this competition, can't win because of license restriction. Haven't had mine for three years due to the testing venue having such long waiting times, damn!

Master 2 challenges per week within the BMW Key App to become one of 5 finalists. Prove that you're 2 enough over four weeks to stand a chance to drive the new BMW 2 Series Coupé for a year.

So what do you drive the next year, seems that they will be handing the winner a model for demonstrational and promotional reason?

I wish we had the 230d and 430d here :(

It's supposed to be a sporty car. BMW assumes that people think diesels are slow, so no diesel.

Yes, I know a decent diesel is pretty fast, so do many others. Lots of people hear diesel and go Hai trekker!
