So she died under my foot in traffic a few days ago. From Neutral into Drive, crept forward and dead.

Mechanic just let me know that the middle pump has failed apparently. I'm just looking for info and pricing on this kinda thing please.

Been Googling, but only found a thread mentioning a relay that's faulty.

There's no fuel coming out to the motor. Weird.

Any input before I go ahead would be appreciated.

PS! Posted this on bmwfanatics as well, just thought I'd throw down a thread here for good measure too. Its a late 2004 facelift model. Auto.

My friends 2003 X5 had exactly the same problem just a few weeks back. Turned out to be the fuel pump. He replaced it himself and saved a fortune.

Got a new fuel pump from these guys in Kenilworth http://www.m1group.co.za/

Thanks genetic. I'm reckoning its the pump on the motor and Bruce's quoted R4500 excl Vat.

Will be looking out for a better deal. Well if there is

check realoem.com for a part number, then call masterparts, goldwagen etc.

Try Diesel Electric (Bosch) CT Parow (021) 911 0131 Fuel pumps for BMW are normally Bosch.
