My central locking on is not working the unlock button does not open any of the doors - when i open with the integrated key only the driver's opens, the switch on the inside doesn't work....the trunk seems to open, but thats about it...any ideas

Check the batteries in the key and in the car.

If its not the battery, then sell the car and buy a Merc or a Bentley, much more reliable.
:D:p

Check batteries (especially the car battery's electrolyte level) - any reputable battery center should be able to.

If it's not the battery, check for any blown fuses.

As suggested by previous posters.

Do you have a spare remote control unit? Try that unit to see if it will work or not.

If all else fails... not good...

E90 model lights flash when remote is pressed apparently it locks just fine (driver's door after opening manually) just doesn't unlock...

Disconnect the car batery, wait 10 minutes and re-connect it. Then the alarm system will reset. It worked when my Jetta's central locking gave issues a while back.

The alarm probably won't be the only thing to reset though..

Since it's an E90 it's probably still covered by the motorplan, I'm sure your dealer would be able to sort you out.
If not it might be time to get out the vaseline.

Blown fuse?

+1 for E90. It's a known issue, happened twice with me before. You can phone BMW, they will tell you the exact fuse - if you're not close to a BMW Centre go buy somewhere and have it replaced at any service centre (it's a bitch to DIY, fuse board is very awkwardly placed ).

EDIT/ sorry forgot to mention it is typically a problem with an "accentuator" (sp?) or something - can't remember the name. Each door has one as part of the central locking system. If you can figure out which door is the problem, they'll can replace it. I haven't yet, had the problem only twice in three years.

The key does not have batteries that can be replaced. It charges when the car is in use. I have been advised to change keys (as in use the other one) every 6 months. And on the last statement.... :p

Why would anyone go to any dealer for anything?

I had same problem with my previous E90 with Comfort Access. One of the door lock actuators was burning the fuse. The dealer eventually fixed the problem by replacing all door lock actuators and the blown fuse.
