So i had some issues with my car (2014 F30 3 Series) shortly after its last service before 100k km, with the fuel pump giving in luckily at 98,500km and a day after the fan belt snapping off. I was working in Mpumalanga at the time. The very friendly team over at Secunda BMW branch sorted me out with a smile.
Before it died i was given a yellow alert about the Drivetrain malfunctioning. Fast forward 3 months and 10k km later im back in Joburg cruising around and im hit with the same damn Drive train error again. Luckily yellow, so i know its something non major, but still cutting power alot. Cant be sure exactly what is making it angry as the Drivetrain error can be a whole bunch of things, so will need to get it plugged in just so one can see exactly where the issue is.
Phoned around the local dealerships and its R1800 for a standard diagnostic session. I almost fell off my chair. I understand that the equipment is costly sure, but it just seems horribly overpriced just to peek inside the hidden logs to find out what the issue is.
Is there anyone around that can maybe point me in the direction of an alternative in terms of running a diagnostic?
Thank you
