Hi Guys

I'm thinking about buying my first BWM Adventure motorcycle. So here is my question, I've only ever driven off road/scramblers in the bush. Have never driven on the road (only short distances to get to the bush). Wont say I'm the best rider under the sun, wondering what to start with, GS 800 or GS 1200 etc. Not wanting to get the 800 only to want to sell it 3 months down the line, and I'm a bit scared of the GS 1200 as they are big. I'm 1.7m tall and weight about 115kg. Any advice from the more experienced people on the group?

I had a 2013 800 GS and it was great, used it as a daily commute for a year, did some off road trips. Baie lekker vir short trips but on the longer trips I always wanted the 1200 GS. So it depends on what you want to use it for mostly and oh, they're not light on fuel. The 800 GS handles like a 250 once you get use to it but my next buy will be the 1200 GS

Weighless?

dead xD

but in seriousness OP you are a bit on the short side for either of those, but i think they both actually do have adjustments to cater for this, whats your goal, to commute with it? to do trips with both on and off road? the 1200 is so nice but it is like driving a picanto sized motorcycle.

I'm 1.75m, and weigh 58kgs and ride a GS (800 and 1200) no problem.
