Bolhuis on TV

Do you follow the various Bolhuis shows on TV?

I will admit, I do occasionally watch an episode here and there, normally because I can’t stop gasping at the weirdness that’s out there in the world around us, but having grown up in Pretoria and seeing him and his “associates” around the nightlife scene, and how he is always somehow involved in the story every time a local celebrity or sports star gets into some trouble with drugs etc - I do find it hard to take the guy seriously.

Believe it or not, he is - now in the position of a “Judge” in a new series called “Bolhuis Beslis”. Sometimes the truth really is stranger than fiction.

But I just don’t understand how he has become something of a folk hero to supposedly very conservative Afrikaners (I am an Afrikaner before I step on toes), when one considers his background.

Kyknet, and then most of the older stuff is also available still on showmax.

Seems Bolhuis has some sort of partnership with the king (or is it queen) of cringe - Riaan van Heerden - he seems to produce most of the Bolhuis programs
