So I've been toying with the idea of writting a book and got going a few weeks back. Since I just wanted to mess around and see how one would go about writting a book, I started with a topic I think I'm pretty good at and started typing away....

The book itself is already on 92 pages and I still have millions of things I want to write. The more you type the more ideas and experiences you have to share, it feels like this book will never end :p

Anyway, the book is about Sex and Relationships. Not that I'm a Genius when it comes to the above topic but I have helped a few people on here with the above topic and they responded with amazing results and thanks. It's a topic I have first hand experience in and I'm sure I can provide some value to the above topic.

Now that being said:

This was actually only a trial run. My wife read through the 92 pages and said I must complete this and get it published. My first response to her was "No one would ever buy a book telling them what works, what doesn't work, how to work on certain things and and and."

Things like Foreplay starts with bathing the kids, doing the dishes and so forth :D

Also, I believe every woman has the right to an orgasm and it should actually be a human right :D I tell you how to make sure you leave her satisfied and so on. Now from experience on here I know a topic like this is not to be discussed openly and I just would like to know if someone would read such a book even if it's just a bunch of crock but would read it through and at least try and follow some of the suggestions.

*And yes it will be sent to an editor ffs :p I know my spelling and Grammar sucks donkey balls :D*

Just curious that's all. I'm doing it as a hobby but since the wife mentioned me publishing it I might as well do a little survey :p

I will sub-edit for you. I ask for 10% of the profits.

I would not buy it nor read it, simply because I am arrogant in my already strong beliefs as to how my relationship should work.

My ex wife tried to get me to read women are from venus, men are from mars.

I think you may have a better chance with the fairer sex buying your book though.

But, all things considered, you should get it edited and then sent to a publisher any way, simply for the life-experience.

I think your right :)

I'll have to finish it first ofc, and I'm in no hurry. Was just a bit curious. Thing is I have seen on here that it is been viewed as taboo and then even months after posting a Topic I get PM's thanking me for so and so thread :o

They know who they are and if you don't want post in the thread a PM will do also :)

write it for women... they are suckers for books about understanding men:D

Do not take this as nasty, but are you desperate for extra income?

Nope,

Just tired of the same old routine.

Why do you keep asking this in every thread I post ? :D
Just because I keep trying different things does it make me poor?

I work for a Multi Billion $ company and in a good possition. O and books don't make money :D

Writing a book is pretty hard work. Even after you have written everything you need there is still loads of things to consider. In fact writing it is probably the easiest bit :D

Some things to consider.
Write the first draft
Read it (and get other people you trust to read it too) get suggestions and feedback.
Write the second draft, rinse and repeat with getting feedback.
Write the final draft.

Make sure you get a copyright for each draft.
Make sure that your manuscript is in the right format (Not sure how strict S.A. publishers are but in the U.K. and U.S.A they are very anal).
Get an agent, and do not send the manuscript unsolicited. Alternatively find a publisher that takes unsolicited work or unpublished authors...

I know what company you work for. That's great!

You're right, books do not make money. Unless you're JK Rowling :)

Every one of us probably has a book inside them and have wanted to write before. So good luck !

Hey but lets be honest, I can always do with more money :D

I'm just at a point in my life where I want to change things around a bit. Getting up and doing the same thing day in and day out is getting a bit old now :p

Got a few things going on the side but it's not enough to make me feel like Jumping out of bed in the morning....

Can one get a Midlife crisis at 30 ?

I think I have one :D

Dude, I've had a midlife crisis since I was 18 :D but have a lot of things to show for it :D

4 Screenplays
One book
One website
About 35 business plans

and I'm still poor :D

Chatting to a shrink recently he said that between 28 and 32 is the most 'normal' time to change careers for most westerners. His said that it's the age where we become credible, to others and ourselves, based on our age and are therefore more likely and able to take risks when the goal is personal happiness.

I reckon writing a book and being published is a great way to earn income. Nothing beats royalty income from reprints etc. I read recently that 'Message in a bottle' still pays the members of the Police 40k sterling per month each, I think I read it in Guitarist magazine..
