I had my boomkin (ballance spec druid) in kara the other day respeced from feral to dps and got a few blues from AH just for fun they needed dps i know kitty dps suck.So we whent in and i was very dissapionted with my dps compared to others= I was only boomkin in kara.

Is there any boomkins that top dps meters how is the spec with epic gear?
Not seen many around so i am not too sure how they preform at lvl 70.
Would like to know from lvl 70 epic geared boomkin?
I didnt find going oom a problem had few point in resto to help me out with mana.

never had a boomking come with me to MH and BT , usually there do okish in Kara but from there onwards they wasting space in the raid.

WHAAAAM!!! MOONFIRE!!

I've seen a Oomkin place a steady 7th in MH/SSC/TK raids.
It's a very gear dependant spec so it's not easy to justify a Raid spot if you're just starting. Best thing to do would be farm badges and get some of the new Badge gear.

A moonkin is a decent addition to a raid group since they have some great synergies with other ranged dps, like 5% crit rate :D

One decently played Moonkin I know, and raid with is Cotson on Shadowsong EU, he does about 980dps during our SSC raids and is mostly in the top 5 dps'ers.
From what I heard though is that Moonkin druids have more luck using cloth gear than getting decent cast leather gear.

and how is this? kitty dps is the pwn..just put me in a melee group with shammie and a hunter and ill push out 1.1k-1.4k dps easy peasy.

For boonkins you need good gear for good dps...ofc same like it is with most classes. And dont forget spell hit ofc and lost of crit. A good rotation and moonkin dps can be ok...but like feral you will not easily top dps meters. Your a support class. When I push out 1k+ dps I'm always about 500 dps behind rogues, locks and mages. Druids arent there to dpzzz the **** out of other classes your a support class and boost your groups dps/hps.

If you don't like that roll a pure dps class.

Pls just correct me if i'm wrong

Spell = Ignore armour

So Def. Moonkin has a place, not above a mage or a Lock but they have space. The problem like everyone else is saying is the fact they go OOM very quickly. That is where the gear part comes in.

Well i found the rigth spec to counter the going oom but like other poster above said we have to use cloth i used cloth too boost my crit rating
every crit=1sec less cast time on next spell. That= alot off spells coming out firing wraths like a machinegun=good dps but mana goes out just as fast as you dps.Ive had too mellee to get mana back lol.

Anyways love the spec in pvp but i kinda see it falling behind in pve.
And i am kinda tired of pvp going feral for pve then.
Ill lvl my mage for dps then.

Hmm. I have to to disagree. A dedicated feral cat druid with proper gearing and stats can do quite admirably. Get about 9.8% +hit then focus on agi for crit. I've seen a cat druid in our guild outdps everyone but the rogues. When he's not dead. Cat droods are a bit squishy, heh. Pull aggro = splatcat.
The thing is, cat dps 'sucks' because half of the time theyre doing other stuff like brezzing or innervating or offhealing or tanking. But let a feral cat dps and do nothing BUT dps and he can come scarily close to rogue-like dps.
Itemisation via raid drops is a bit of a problem later on, but correct itemisation via badge loot can fix this.
As for Boomkin, their dps can be respectable but they're more of a buffer and utility class (able to raidheal when needed) than primary dps.

Yup I agree with what Khayne said... in our guild at least, we have a fantastic druid, and when we do boss fights, I can see him climb rapidly with some of the top dps'ers, and he keeps doing good dps in kitty form... its only when you hear the dreaded words "Pls Battlerez XxX" that you see the poor druid loose dps time, and drop down the list.

Also because of their multi class versatility, they can quickly jump in and help healing as well. So druids are so good at multiple things, they don't really get time to excel at one thing.

Our druid was doing way over 1k dps on our last BT run last week on pretty much every fight.

Here are some stats for last weeks BT run, we will be doing one tonight again...

As for dps... its very very important to have the right group setups to have your DPS classes perform at their best. Last week I had a completely horrible setup. I had a bunch of warriors + rogues with me, and ended up getting the shammy who planted strength totems. The other hunter in the group got the Feral druid crit buff, shaman agility totem... He crushed me on some of the fights due to the group setup. You can see all those lovely buffs in the buff / debuffs section.
I had to play so much harder to keep my damage output higher than those pesky rogues + warlocks.

As werries + shogun mentioned... Boomkin's are very very gear dependant, and are worth more as a support player boosting up other dps classes, rather than their own. I cant see any raid leader taking more than one Boomkin, which is pretty much already a rare commodity.

Yeah, Feral Druids can do damage .... although there dps scales really badly with better gear.

As for Boomkin druids .... all i have to say is HOLY CRAP!

We have a Boomkin druid in our raids. Atm he's pushing 1.5k - 1.7k dps
depending on fights, he's never dropped below 1.4k dps (Since we hit Hyjal). Sure we are running around in T6 gear, but is it a waste of a spot in the raid bringing him along?
HELL NO!

All the casters fight over him in there group.

Only downside is there aggro, We have killer tanks so its not so much of an issue, its more the warlocks pulling than him :p

Good to hear some Moonkins are doing that well!
Up to T5 the moonkins were really starved for gear, but since ZA haste rating items and T6 gear they slowly show their worth. There is just too few good moonkin druids around to promote this class more :(
