Hey all,

I need some advice on a wifi device that can boost the signal of neighbouring APs. Preferably a device that will just extend the ranges of any AP in the vinicty and doesnt require pairing.

What is your budget?
How big an area do you want to cover?
What does your existing setup look like (physical layout)?
What router/AP's are your currently using?
How many devices do you want to connect to the Wifi? What type of devices?

I am busy studying pen testing in the evenings and looking to expand my lab environment. So my idea is to boost my wifi on my laptop allowing me to see the various WiFis in my area (without the pain of having to walk around). I have done internal testing on my equipment and now want to branch out and see what other environments around me have to offer in the form of difficulty.

No malicious intent, just seeing if i can basically get in.

Awus 034 wireless usb adapter, wantitall sells them, very good transmit and receive on these ones, for pentesting you do not need to roam your nabours wifi access points, you setup a lab with your own wifi router that you have the right to monitor, gives you more control to PENTEST.
