Hi,

I have two HDD. One is running Windows XP and one is running Windows Vista.

I have now finally figured out how to get a boot up menu giving me the options to choose which OS to use, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get Vista running.

The path for Windows XP shows something like :
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

How do I know what path to put in for Vista? I don't know where to get the "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)" part of the equition for Vista.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, because I got Vista to work, but then couldn't find XP again and had to re-install XP  :o.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) shows the location of the partition, the disk etc

Is your vista installed on a physically seperate HDD?

It's a phisical seperate HDD

You dont

Let me explain

Vista NEEDS a vista bootloader, the loader options you describe there are your XP boot manager options.

You'll first have to run vista's installation disk running the fixmbr option to fix the vista boot record

Take a look at

Thanx, I'll check it out tonight quickly :)
