I have this computer that has booting problems. I initially thought that the error lay with the Hard Drive, but now after replacing the Hard Drives I see that the problem is else where.

I dont really know what is wrong, the computer requires me to turn the power button on and off before I see any display. I removed all the drives, and here's is what happens :

1. When I push the power button, all the fans start and if the hard drives where connected they too would boot , but there is no screen display.
2. Everything continues to run, but no display.
3. I have to switch the PSU on/off button on and off and then after doing this I See the bios screen which picks up all the hardware fine.

I changed the PSU, and then I ended with no display once again. So I have determined that the problem is with the Motherboard. My knowledge with is limited with this issue, and someone recommended "flashin the bios".

So what is that, and is that really the cause ?

Thanks

You can try the following:

Removing a RAM stick and see if it boots up all the way.
a different screen.
different VGA / DVI cable.

Lastly you can try a graphics card. If it works it would be cheaper and less hassle than replacing the MB.

When you power on do you hear the "POST" beep sound indicating everything is fine?

If you don't you most likely have PSU issues, pretty common. If it's not the PSU then remove the ram, clean the contacts, reseat and if it still persists it could be the MB.

I removed the CD-Rom and Additional Hard Drive, and my OS is back online. The problem is the PSU.
Thanks.
