Bootmgr missing Window 7 HELP!!!

Wow, howardb. I wonder if the OP appreciates the immense trouble you went to in creating this post. Screenshots of two different BIOSs, arrows, instructions. If only more MyBB posters were as helpful.

Hats off, sir!

I am appreciative..

I don't even know how to screen shot from bios..

Make me sound bad :(

+1 you would have had some Rep points if the system was still around.

Thanks both - always try to assist where possible - I remember the Rep points... :D

Hey
Thanks for the explaination
But yeah, that is where I change the boot setup... I did change it to HDD, but it still gave me that bootmgr missing :(
Thanks again

No problem kaisterkai - did you also change the Hard Disk Boot Priority section and not just the First Boot Device?
What happens if you press the F9 or F6 boot device options key at the POST screen when you first start your PC (as soon as the BIOS shows on the screen) - should bring up the boot device options to choose the drive you wish to boot from.

Shot for the link, but I did that before already.. and.. nothing happened..

I think I'll try the bootrec again.. But yeah.. sigh.. this problem is rather.. annoying :(

You could also try disconnect all other drives except your boot drive, put this drive on the very 1st SATA (labeled SATA 0) motherboard connector... this is the very 1st blue SATA connector closest to the "inside" of the board, furthest blue SATA connector away from the edge. If you OS install is not on the boot drive, connect this drive also to the very next blue SATA connector on the motherboard, SATA 1.

You can then do a bootrec repair if it does not boot.

Once it is repaired and booting, add the other drives again, but keep boot drive and OS drive on the 1st and 2nd blue SATA (0,1) connectors on your motherboard.

Just got nailed by this problem last night. Very annoying. My machine won't even boot from the Windows DVD anymore. I fked up the boot priority in Disk Manager.

Anything like external drive or flashdrive plugged into USB? unplug all and check again...

What port is the SSD plugged into on the MoBo? eg. SATA 0

Nothing else plugged in. I'll check which port a bit later.

I think I may have figured out why it's not booting from windows disk. Some forums say I'm not using an original disk which I'm not, using an old copied disk. It does however for example boot just fine from an original Norton Ghost disk.

When I'm back by the machine I'll try and boot from my original Windows 7 DVD and see.
