Just want to know what the general feel out there is?

I personally love bootstrap, but not always sure if that is what the "industry" uses? I am a noob and do this in my spare time out side of my normal work duties so please excuse the question if it isn't the question I should ask etc etc.

Boys and Girls, the stage is yours

Bootstrap is the most popular one out there, so it's better to learn than others as you can pretty much expect it to be used. The thing is that learning one or the other is about the same, and it is easy to move between them so long as you have the good old documentation at hand.

I, personally, like to make my own 12-column grid with my own components so that I don't have to deal with all of the other stuff that comes with bootstrap (like button and link styling).

I think Bootstrap is the best one, especially if you are still learning the ropes. It's super easy to customize and simple to use. You will also find a bunch of plugins to use with it :)

Bootstrap is, of course, the most popular and, as @esvi says, it's a great tool to learn the ropes. However, my problem with Bootstrap is how it is commonly used. The idea behind the name, to me anyway, is that it is something to start with, not something to simply implement. Tens of thousands of websites have used it is a drop-in to make the design process easier - not much customisation/effort has been put in.

As for Foundation, I can't say much as I don't see many sites using it.

Both frameworks are excellent, and can be built upon with amazing results, if some proper effort is put in.

If I had to pick between the two (which I never do), I would pick Bootstrap. Have had several issues with Foundation in the past, and so simply stopped giving it a try.

With that said, I commonly use FlexboxGrid (you'll notice the class naming convention is the same as Bootstrap, with a whole bunch of added flexy goodness, as well as only the components I need. I'm a big fan of open-source, and so I try and make use of packages from different vendors as a method of 'support'.

Relevant side note: Bootstrap is to my methodology and/or other lesser-known frameworks as WordPress is to smaller (and safer, hence my making this point) platforms like ProcessWire.

Haven't tried a project with Polymer yet, but it looks quite nice!
Check out some element demos here: https://elements.polymer-project.org/browse?package=paper-elements

I think this is what whatsapp web uses. Made by Google :)

More sites built with it: http://builtwithpolymer.org/

I prefer bootstrap myself, but I want to play with all the options now and then.

I think you mean material design. https://www.google.com/design/spec/material-design/introduction.html
