Borderlands

The lan co-op is brilliant!!! Wont be dissapointed. Its feels really empty playing single player.

I have been playing single player and still thoroughly enjoying the endless search for a better weapon.

If I enjoy the SP so much, well then I cant wait for co-op :)

How does the "online" work ... is it similar to L4D regarding that someone can host a 4 player co-op server ?

The reason for asking my boet(DBN) and I(JHB) regularly play L4D co-op over inet..

Not really, it's just that all the weapons are customizable, so there is actually 87 bazillion different type of customizations for all the weapons in the game. Still, that's a hell of a lot to choose from.

Not really, the customizations actually appear visually on the weapons themselves.

I think the confirmed number of combinations/guns is closer to 17 Million. 87 Bazillion is an over the top exaggeration , call it poetic license :P

anyone else here getting General Protection Fault errors? well i am, and so are a LOT of ppl on the Gearbox forums! some ppl can't even start the game! so anyone thinking of buying the game, be warned that you might end up with a game you can hardly play.

Nope no errors whatsoever, been smooth sailing since last week Friday on my side :D

Hi All

As a fan of the action rpg genre I have a question regarding Borderlands.

I have read the only item slot there is, is for a gun, no such slots for armour etc. My question is how often as a player do you change your gun for a better one

Thanks

Hi Stephen

There are a couple of slots for different guns as well as one for a shield, one for grenade upgrade and a class upgrade.

And yes, you change guns a lot, I change my gun every couple of minutes.

This game is brilliant :D

Lol every couple of minutes is a bit crazy :D Love the game :D Hunter ftw :D

There is also a skill unique to each character which has 3 trees for customisation. To this skill you can add an artifact for extra effects, ie different types of elemental damage to the Soldiers deployable turret

I swear it feels like I change guns every couple of minutes :D

Kill a guy and wow a new sniper rifle :D run around a building and what's in that box an even better one with explosive rounds:D

I constantly have to drop guns and equip new ones.

Have you guys tried those wierd alien guns. I think they are Eridien or something like that. My one gun has over 900 damage and unlimited ammo, it just shoots rather slow.

I must say that the end boss thing is far too easy though.

Im no where near the end boss, I am trying to explore every nook and cranny, and do every single side quest lol

It will dissapoint.

I have gone through the first play through pretty quickly so I will tackle all the side quests on the 2nd play through, apparently the enemies are much harder on the 2nd play through so this will make the side missions more of a challenge. And I get to do them with a high level hunter :D

lol yeah there are always better guns :D But I found guns which require level 24 but the level 8 guns I had at the time were better, that was strange lol :D But I'm only lvl 18 at the moment, no time with finals and all :D

Finally got the game and i think is really is a breath of fresh air for the FPS/RPG's. Really enjoying the game so far, and even the online seems playable on intl games.

Anyone wanna add me, my nick is - AjAx30-CRJ

For those of you interested I found this quite useful when trying to find some nice weaponry and getting some more cash:

Hint: Quick Money and Items

Want purple and orange items without having to kill a single enemy? Once you get to "New Haven," head to the save/transport post near "Scooter" and save your game. Then, there are 2 red chests and 3 silver chest in town...4 of them on rooftops, and one that the claptrap rescue opens for you. Just loot them all, keep what you want, sell what you don't want and then save your game. Log off, then log back in to repeat the process. Check all the vending machines each time as they will offer great items as well.

Here is a rundown of the loot route from at the save/transport post near Scooter:

Red Chest #1 - On the roof of the building directly right of the save post. Go to the side with the yellow barrel, jump few times and you are there.

Silver Chest #1 - From the save post, turn directly left and go up the stairs, keep going in the same direction, cross the wood plank and then jump the railing to the other building. Turn a slight right around the corner.

Red Chest #2 - from Silver Chest#1...some tricky jumps, but not too hard. Simply look out to the red tarp hanging over a little platform and make a running jump to land on the tarp. Then turn around till you see the Red Chest, make another jump (not too high or you will get caught on the red tarp over the chest and fall off).

Silver Chest #2 - After completing the Claptrap Rescue this Silver Chest will be in a little shed across the courtyard from the Bounty Board (you just have to crouch to get in there).

Silver Chest #3 - From the save post go forward and go up the stairs where the dollar sign and arrow are. Hop on top of the washing machine, then on top of the roof with the big antenna. The Silver Chest is behind it.

My character is currently level 23 Hunter. I managed to get a nice volcano sniper with 333 damage and X4 fire damage and a nice Rocket launcher with X4 fire damage, 380 normal damage with x3 every-time I fire a projectile. Cannot use them yet though because they are all level 25 items but I managed to get very nice level 22 items as well

Was a bad game for me. 6/10. Didn;t live up to my expectations of RPG.
DragonAge here I come!
