Borehole water testing in Pretoria

Hi all,

I bought a house in Pretoria a couple of years ago and it came with really good working borehole.

With all the watershedding going on, I started wondering whether my borehole water is safe to drink and figure I need to test it.

Anybody have recommendations for a lab/company who can test it? And what should I test for (I know mineral content and eColi, anything else?)

Not a recommendation as I'm exploring the same and a borehole , Stark Borehole , I've seen do borehole drilling in my area by a Pvt school they do offer on their website testing for water quality Gauteng based ...
 
You wont go wrong with Aquatico laboratories.
Aquadoc does not seem to be accredited.
 
Ended up going with this guy: Water Quality specialist - South Africa (vdkwater.co.za)

Partially because Aquadoc and Aquatico never came back to me. Johan came out to my house, took a sample and sent it for analysis (and then it turns out he sent it to Aquatico in any case). He then wrote a report for me explaining it.

In short: my borehole's water is safe for drinking with no extra processing necessary, but it is very hard:

So yeah, at least if there's a major water infrastructure problem I can fall back to the borehole. For now I'll probably just continue using it for the garden.
 
Make sure you are insured! Saw someone did some drilling, the neighbours house got massive cracks after the drilling.

This looks like it's for a wellpoint, not borehole.

Also, I posted my test results already - just scroll a bit back into the thread ;). Luckily they tested for all those you mentioned.

That's pretty much what I did yes. Wanted to know if I had to use the borehole water in my house (to drink, to use in the kitchen, to use in the bathroom) would it be safe?

So yeah, that's why I had it tested.

Where are you located?
