Boro Supporters

boro are a strange team

can beat arsenal do well against united and chelsea but lose to the crappy teams hahaha

He will still be there, we have a brilliant chairman, he won't let Southgate go until he's had a real chance to prove himself and on recent preformances Southgate is starting to get the best from his players.

We always play well against the big 4, just wish we could do it against the others too.

Who do you support?

just when i thought only LiverFools,Chelsea & Arsewipes are the enemy ...

Variety is the spice of life...I can only watch one team win the title every year for so long. Man U did it plenty in the 90's, got bored. Arsenal won it 3 times, got bored. Chelski won it twice, very bored. At least it's close this year...last year Man U made it boring again. It's more fun watching the relegation battle.

supporting a team is not about what they win its about supporting a team who enjoy watching and lets be honest here

arsenal and united are about the best teams in the league to watch so it makes sense ppl will support them

Spurs are one of the best teams to watch, but you never know what you're gonna get from them. I will watch Man U and Arsenal play, but that doesn't mean I support them. I will support Boro no matter what, even if they don't play the most attractive football. If Man U stop playing exciting football, would you stop supporting them??

Boro should sack Southgate if they want to go anywhere.

Before Paul Jewell took over at Derby, I really thought if Southgate got the sack (as he should have), Jewell would have been the perfect guy for them.

What was he thinking taking the Derby job. It's set him back 3 years at least.

I like Boro, but they need a couple of classy/experienced/talented players to help there youngsters develop. Maybe a couple of 30 year old world class players who are ready to wind their careers down at a club on the up.

franc i never said you stop supporting them

i said ppl who start watching soccer like arsenal and united because of the talented players (not much so arsenal) and the way they play ball

as much as i support united i do a soft spot for a few teams like spurs

i really hope spurs can pull finger next season

they have a great manager and some great players, would love to see a big 5 or 6 and not big 2 or 3

Agreed. But let's not beat around the bush...a lot of new football fans support the "big 4" because they are on top and not coz of the way they play. If that was the case, Chelsea and Bolton would have no supporters.

If Southgate was going to get the boot back in December, I agree that Paul Jewel was the best person to take over - why he took over Derby I'll never know. But it would have been unfair to sack Southgate...he was thrown in the deep end with no experience, all the players we out of contract and none we looking to stay. He has finally got together a team that he's chosen and we are starting to play some good football...just ask Man U, Chelsea, Spur and Arsenal gow good we can be.

Yeah, we could do with some experienced players but I'd rather have the youngsters rather than the ego of Yakubu and Viduka. Give me a local kid who bleeds Boro any day over someone looking for the biggest paycheck.

Is there any hope of ever winning any silverware by supporting such teams like Boro? :D

It took 128years but we have one top flight trophy in the cabnet. There was a UEFA cup quater final followed by a final too...can't say many other premiership teams can say the same in the last 5 years!
But it's not always about winning silverware (bet you support Man U) sometimes there's a faith and support to be shown to your team...regardless of their league position.
There are THOUSANDS of supporters out there who go to games every week even thought their team is in the Campionship or League 1, 2 or Conference...those are true supporters.

I'm not a Man U anymore. I used to be one those days.

I guess supporting teams like Boro doesn't cause more stress since you are used to losing :D
When you lose 5-1 to Man U, it is quite an achievement I guess.

Who do you support then? Sorry but you sound like a trophy hunter to me!
I garantee you, it's more stressful for me not only because I never know which side of Jekyl and Boro are going to turn out on the day but I also live every kick of the game.

Just to put things inperspective...
Boro have one of the best records in the premiership at Old Traford.
Boro were the first team to beat Arsenal this season (yes before Man U and Chelsea).
Boro inflicted the heaviest defeat on Mourinho's Chelsea.
Ronaldo scored Man U's 1000th premier league goal at the Riverside, unfortunately the 3 other scorers were Mendieta x2, Hasselbank and Downing.
Afonso Alves 2 Man U 2.
If you want more...I'll go all day.
