I think bosch is a franchise, so you get good ones and bad ones...

I service my Ford Ikon at one, after the service is has been much more fuel efficient, and it cost me R100 less than they initially said and it was quick.

Depends which one. We service all our cars (VW, Merc, Opel, Toyota) at a Bosch certified (not franchise) service centre and the guy that owns it is a perfectionist. So we have no problems with the service. But old VAGs always needs fixing...

I service my car myself, except when it comes to replacing the camshaft belt or CV boots.
