Bottleneck?

PLL Setup is grey. I can't select it. It's currently set to NVidia C51, which is my chip.

Ok, you'll probably need to find an app that overclocks your motherbard but maybe you damaged your boards pll by the over-clocking you did earlier in your Bios?

Hi guys,

I am disturbed by my low 3DMark 06 score. I have seen results on PCs with the same specs as mine, but MUCH better results.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2GB 667 DDR2 RAM
Inno3D GeForce 9600GT 512MB DDR3

3DMark scores are as follow:

SM2.0: 3381
SM3.0: 3096
CPU: 1564

This is extremely poor in comparison to other reviews and reports, where the SM scores were between 4000 and 5000. What can be done to find this bottleneck? Is there a BIOS setting that's limiting performance?

I think 3D mark scores are over-rated. I just think that it's a number attached to your system which = nothing. Gaming performance is a better mesure of your systems performace.

Just a small example here of Crysis Demo [DX10] & some Core 2 Duo cpu's
Link

At 1440x900 even the underclocked E6700 @ 1.6Ghz got 41.7Fps with a 8800 GTX while at the stock speed it got 45.4 that's a 3.7fps difference

Another example :) - Here we have some AMD X2's!
Link [Results] and the Article

At 1920x1200 a Celeron got 38.4fps & the AMD X2 4000+ 64** got 42.5fps thats a 4.1fps difference with a 8800GTS 320Mb

**Closest thing I could find to your X2 3800+

Although certain games will be more demanding on the CPU

So after all of this I would not worry about 3D mark as long as your games are playing fine... it should be all good.

Any-hoo thats just my 2c :) take it with a pinch of salt ;)
