Guys, me and the lady purchased a car cash from hyundai.
My question is how do we know the car belongs to us? All they did was give us an invoice and we still waiting for a license disk.
This is the 1st time we actually have a car without owing the bank so I'm pretty clueless as to exactly how the car actually belongs to us?
Any special documents or anything?

Just wait for the registration. Did you not read the plethora of documents you signed? One is a change of ownership...

OK but shouldn't they have given me my own copy or something?
 
You need a registration certificate transferred into your name. As per DJ's post did you not read the documentation...?

I wasn't there when she went to collect the car so I couldn't read the documentation.
So if the car licence disk is under her name, that means we own it?

Basically yes. You will receive what is called an RC1 form. That is proof of ownership.
 
Thanks. Just one more question. How long should this take? We got the car bout 2 weeks ago and I was there last weekend but no license. Asked when it'll be ready and he said Monday. Tom is Thursday:(

Will have to give them a call and remind them.

Sorry for the off topic. Out of personal curiosity, what school standard do you have and how old are you? Glad to see you have been helped by the forum. :D

My bad then. I guessed 3 and 69. Not that far out though :D Nice to hear you managed to buy your car cash. Don't worry too much about the paper work. It will sort itself out - eventually. Oh, and TX for not taking my question to serious.
