After playing on a PS3 at a relative’s house, I decided to buy a console. After some deliberation I bought an XBox Pro, purely financial decision, I enjoyed playing on the PS3. Anyway being an avid PC supporter for many years the decision didn't come lightly, the last console I owned was a Atari 2600 (I think that was the model and crap I'm getting old...) Well I can honestly say that I'm very pleased with the XBox, quality stuff here, pictures don't do it justice. Bought two games, Forza2 (Cheap at Game) and Tiger Woods 09. Now what struck me (I'm not dishing the PC here, there are pro's on both sides - keyboard, mouse, flexibility and simulations come to mind) is the ease of playing, what I mean is, no installation, no updating or patching, fiddling with settings and worrying about frame rates. Just pop in a cd and of you go and not stuck in front of a PC either, although my wife told me to remove the "box" from the bedroom. This for the price of what would have been my next graphic card purchase. Pretty chaffed I am. Looking forward to simulation type games e.g. Race Pro and Battlestations Pacific and then I'm all set.

Well Cheers! fellow console owners.:)

Congrats, you will get HOURS of fun with your 360.

Get Xbox Live, it is worth every cent! I can't even tell you how many awesome moments I've had online play against my fellow Saffers.

Ah yes thats a big plus as well, thanks feo. I'm on 3g, hope the latency will not be a problem.

Well we play Forza with a few guys on 3G and for the most part it's fine.

I think your experience on Live with 3G will probably be game specific. Forza has shared hosting so the impact is absorbed by all players but on a game like GoW2, I think it'll be totally different. If you're going for Live I'd just get a dedicated 384k ADSL line, that'd give you minimum hassles.

Ok looks like I'll need to support telkom again...
BTW do you use a wheel? Sadly my Momo is not supported. Looking at the Microsoft offering at the moment and getting conflicting reviews.

Congrats on your xbox purchase. Just make sure you keep the receipt safe incase you ever see the RRoD.

Btw Forza 2 is a brilliant game. I even had to buy it again after i scratched my first copy it.

Awesome congrats!

Some guys do play on live with 3G or iBurst, it just depends what you're playing. Racing and Golf should be fine, but things like FPS may be a bit laggy.

Either way I look forward to catching you online!

Thanks, yes definately money well spend. Was bit dissapointed with no in car view ala GTR and Race, but can live without as it's a superb game.
