Bought GW2 and Updateing

Hi

Unsure if this is Correct i Bought the Game and now the updates is about 10 gb is this correct Or did i install the dvd's wrong ?

Repse it shouldn't be as much as 10 gigs, from what i've read the update should be about 2.6 gigs if you installing from Disk. is it a bought copy or did a friend burn it? My game files are 15.6gigs at the moment and thats completely updated. I did however read that Arenanet were release the first patch today so maybe i am in for a big update tonight

Hi Repse.

Same boat as you. Got my game delivered shortly after 11am. Yet to play as it wants to download 60 000+ files on my measly Cell C 3G...

My friend with his uncapped ADSL started to download, got to 4% before his net died, still down. But at that point it downloaded 240MB. If you do the math, it works out to 6GB total.

The percentage is related to the amount of files, not the total size. During the Beta Weekends we proved again and again that the percentage was not an accurate indication of the size.

But yes, everyone says the retail update is around 2-3GB.

The progress bar isn't accurate, so you cannot calculate the update just by looking at that. 2-3Gb should be about right, and you will notice that the progress bar will jump after a while.

A quick question, can't I just copy the client from a friend, or will an instalation from the CD's be required along with the 2gb download?

Client copy will work fine. Expecting my friend to drop it off after work. The wait is killing me! :x

Still 2-3GB is a lot for "bug fixes".
