Hi Peeps,

I am looking for an alternative to getting fit and shedding the excess pounds. I have been going to gym for a couple months now on and off and have seen no progress.
I guess its cos I don’t go consistently however I am there at least twice a week, I just find gym very boring and have to force myself to go.

Is there any other (fun) way of keeping fit. I am considering boxing classes, however can I join a club just for the training, I don’t want fight competitions ect (Too old for that and besides if some-one hits me, I tend to loose it and the street fighter in me come out, imagine my 1st competition fight and I am disqualified for kick the guys in his b@lls or whacking him with the chair :) )

Any other fun workout suggestions???

PS: Don’t suggest any of those dancing classes like Teibo ect, not for me.

Squash is a good way to get fit. The little bit of competition makes it fun. You just need to find someone to play against who is at the same skill level as you otherwise it is not as fun getting thrashed.

Best thing for weight loss i find is a combo of cycling and running - consistency is key.

Martial arts are good for strength, you will need to balance it with a cardio workout like cycling or running.

I did Kung fu for a long time, I loved it. Also its a really long time till you even have the option of getting in the ring with some one, for the same reasons as you I prefer it that way.
