The b@stard who killed Anika Smit (the girl that had her hands cut off) has been caught. Hope he rots in jail!

No information on how he was caught however...

21-year-old man was arrested on Monday for the murder of Anika Smit, who was found with her hands cut off at her home north of Pretoria, Gauteng police said.

The man, who allegedly had a relationship with the 17-year-old girl, was arrested around 5.20am at the Carousel Casino in the North West where he worked, police spokeswoman Captain Julia Claassen said.

Smit was alone at her home when she was raped before her throat was slit and her hands were cut off on March 8. She had not gone to school due to an ear infection. She was a Grade 11 pupil at Hoerskool Gerrit Maritz and lived alone with her father, Johan, in Theresa Park.

The man would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on May 19 on a charge of murder and sexual assault. - Sapa

I read this and immediately thought a similar thing. Not Malema specifically but the millions of crime stories posted. A large number of them end up showing that it was in fact someone close to the victim. This does not, of course, make it any better or negate the fact that crimes are being committed but it is not always as random as walking down the street and getting killed.

Glad to see that the ****er was caught, I hope that he gets life.

Looks like some people were way off with their: "black guys broke in and killed her" crap.

Some of my favourites, from one of my favourites!

Murdering b@stards, that's what you get when living in a savage country. Fsucking savages that all!

I am fuming, this country is a savage haven, that's it, nothing changed in 300 years! Look at our/the great leadership, all defending the "Kill a whitey (boer)" song, then we wonder why this happens!
This is not a isolated case, it only got to the front newsdesk because of the arms, for me the original issue of the crime is the murder and the intent to do so with the "approval" of the ANC.

Egg on face!!

Pity we don't have the death penalty anymore. If this one is found guilty we have to support him the rest of his life. Savage.

From the type of injuries she sustained, it was always obvious that she knew her killer, i.e. a close friend or bf, so there was never a big possibility that it was done by a random stranger.

I am sure the police was lead by this premise as well.

I know, in the original thread I said that I thought that it was someone that she knew, others said that it must have been 'those murdering black' :(.

Ai. I think the punishment should fit the crime. His hands feet and dick should go. :(

But he did imply that the crime was done by people who would have been singing that song.

Nope, read again. He said that we live in a country of savages where leadership sings that song. The song reference being a nudge on how crap this country is, not that it's the reason for killing in question.

...and the added little gem of : "and the intent to do so with the "approval" of the ANC".

But I realise some people would not see the implications being made with such comments....
