Fabrice Bellard has developed a new image format called BPG (Better Portable Graphics), with the aim of replacing JPG

For the first one you're right. Silly.

The second one is the actual BPG, as it says at the top of the page: "The BPG images are decoded in your browser with a small Javascript decoder"
