Braai Tongs

Hi guys. I had a simple pair of braai tongs, made from bend aluminium with wood handles made by a local company I recall. I "lost" it after a good party and ever since i realized all these new, fancy tongs with hinges and levers are quite crap compared to that simple, single piece of alu. Does anyone know what i'm talking about? It's similar to this https://www.takealot.com/gourmand-stainless-steel-bamboo-braai-tong/PLID38669125 but without the stupid hinge mechanism and fancy tip. Just simple. My search in regular shops has been fruitless. Any idea where i can find it?

I know why you love those tongs. Unbreakable, efficient, great at cracking open an ice-cold Windhoek. I have two and they're both over ten years old.

Checkers Balfour Park. Just saw them there the other day. Exact same type I've been using for 10 years.

Please for the love of meat don't put your faith in any ol'e Bendyfork McBendyface as in that image or the one from Leroy-Merlin.

There is a world of difference between those sturdy leaf-shaped meat-grabbers & these thin flat crap-pinchers that bend as you even just think of pick up a lettuce leaf.

The fork and spatula of the set looks ok, but experience tells me you're gonna drop your perfectly seared steak on the ground, while fido is watching your every move..
