Might as well ask seen as I am stuck at a computer for a few hours...

My pads and discs need changing, apparently.

I went to Pit Stop who quoted me R1350, R750 for the Ferodo pads and R600 for the pair of discs, labour included.

I called Goldwagen and they can sell me pads for R385 and discs for R370, total R755.

I can do the change myself, not a complete noob. The only question is that I am not sure what make these products are just wondering if I should go with the Ferodo pads or the Goldwagen parts? Are the Ferodo pads worth the extra R595?

Peace!

Brake pads are not worth it to skimp on.

You did not mention your car make/model.

Personally I don't settle for anything except Feroda pads and that was even on my previous rust bucket ride.

It's a 2000 Corsa 160iS.

Yeah, I going to see what other pads these places supply. But with saving like this and having a student job (ie *****), it is worth a shot unless it kills me ;)

go for the best break pads you can afford, and fit them yourself...it doesn't really take a lof of effort, there is only a "pin" that might prove tricky when putting everything back

I understand, but shop around on the pads. Don't want to say discs are discs, but I've never had issue with cheap after-market discs.

Did this a few months back for the first time and I'm 35. Thank goodness for my netbook and the power of google :) - was really easy.
