I've heard lots and lots of horror stories about "branded" phones and unfortuantely had to endure using one for a few days too, VLive on a motorola V3....

Anyways, I'm getting a N95 soon, and it's most likely going to come vLive branded....

Will it be possible to de-brand it and would it be advised?

Well let me get it and then i'll see how well it works with vlive and if necessary, try debrand it...

Just hope that vodac doesn't object to a debranded phone connecting to their network...

They wouldn't know about it. My old N70 was erroneously debranded by the Nokia update service and no problems - in some case you might find that MMS videos are not displayed correctly (like my N70 after the debranding)
I also have an E70 which is not a vodacom phone and have the same problems with MMS videos. They are displayed as thumbnails and not full screen.
