This is still on my bucket list.

Pure Undiluted Brandy Box Set

Potstill-brandy-box-set.png

The character of Upland Organic Pure Pot-still brandy is unmistakable: Wafts of dried peaches and apricots, citrus and pineapple are topped by generous vanillas – a depth and complexity of flavour that lingers on the palate, with a dry finish reminiscent of a great Cognac. The brandy is made in very limited quantities, hand selected from the finest of each year’s produce. Upland brandy is best when savoured neat after a meal, accompanied perhaps by coffee and dark chocolate…. Upland brandy came second in the Guldkorken International Competition in Stockholm. Gold medal at Quest for the Best Competition.

Upland Undiluted Brandy is South Africa’s only cask strength brandy (62 %). It is bottled as it came out the barrels, in small batches, unfiltered. Unique in many ways. :p

I bought one about a month ago ;)

Also got their regular release. Both are very nice, but that cask strength is something else

Nice!

Also not tasted - Savingnac Potstill Brandy

PS. I still have some of this at home, but am too scared to open it :D

Field of Dreams Absinthe

Ultimately these excesses ruined the virtue and sanity of many. Ears went missing, drunkenness became commonplace and the beautiful people succumbed to their Bohemian lifestyles, leading ultimately to the banning of Absinthe in 1915. Thankfully the work of the beautiful people remains to inspire and show us our potential.

Note: Field of Dreams is an authentic high-proof 68% absinthe.

Both of those come from Jorgensen. That brandy is really good. You should give Roger at Jorgensen a call and go for a visit. He's got all sorts of other stuff on the go as well like gin and beer. Upland is also literally just up the road from there, so you can make a day of it. Stop in at CBC for a celebratory beer on the way home :)

Hehe :D

Have you had this before? Hess Alambic 5 yo Brandy

From the quaint R62 town of Montagu, comes a very much unknown 5 year old potstill brandy from Mimosa Lodge. My rating is 16/25

I once got a bottle, but it was labeled "Mimosa" back then. Was nice.

Nice. I'm doing Route 62 mid June so who knows what will find its way back with me

Pretty much the Brandy route now, isn't it? Barrydale now includes Ode Molen and Ladysmith also has brandy. Apparently there are some craft breweries also starting up on the R62 now.

I did almost the whole Brandy Route 3 years ago even Mons Ruber.

Just didn't do Wellington.

Must stop for a Klipdrift Burger this time :erm:

Had a quick run through some Nuy, Joseph Barry 10 and oude molen rené single cask.

All really enjoyable but something special about the rené.
