Who really is the best international spirits competition to look at?
Our brandy doesn't really feature on worldbrandyawards though. Oude Meester is there as a desert wine.

Hey guys i am going to Capetown in December any brandy places that is a must visit going to be making a whole day trip of it

KWV have pretty decent tasting as well also have liqueurs and such for the missus
If you want something more off the beaten track there are a few small distelleries in Wellington. Go visit Roger at Jorgensens. Really fun guy, makes excellent brandy as well as Gin and Absinthe.
Edit: Not specifically brandy related, but fun day out for wine, beer, food & chocolate is spice route, but I would imagine it's going to be crazy busy over December, so if you want to pop in, go early.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, already mailed van ryn 2 days ago but no reply yet, will check these places out and then work out a route as i am going to be staying in langebaan
Puts you about 1hr out of Town and they have road works on the R27 at the moment. Although a quick look at google maps suggests you can head down the R315 via Darling (worth exploring), Malmesbury, then R45 to Wellington and from there you can hit Paarl & Stellenbosch.

AFAIK both Stellenbosch and Welling have a brandy route, similar to the wine routes.
