Makro's website says that the 46V550 and 46W550 are 10 bit panels? Is this correct? AFAIK the Z and X series are 10 bit. Sony's website does not confirm this either. I've seen the X series (10bit) and it's the best panel ever, a bit pricey though....

check the uk website

Only z5500 series are 10-bit this year , sony dropped the ball after their 2008 models, whereby, from the w4500 upwards, they were indeed 10-bit.

I would hang on until March/April - new sony's coming with MUCH improved LCD panels from Sharp - google sharp uv2a technology :D

Ok, but March is too far for me, I've been holding on too long. I'm looking at either the 46w550 or 46x450. The X is 10 bit, w is 8 bit. Quality on the X kicks any panel on the market from what I've seen.
