Two Brazilian police officials based in Pretoria in connection with the soccer world cup arrested two men who tried to rob them, police said on Wednesday.

"Two guys got caught with their hands in the cookie jar," said police spokesperson Vish Naidoo.

He said the Brazilians caught two men who were trying to steal from their hotel rooms in Pretoria at 3am on Tuesday.

The Brazilians, guests of the SA Police Service, are on an observer mission for preparations for the 2010 soccer world cup.

Brazil are the hosts for the 2014 event.

Naidoo said the two men appeared to gain access to the hotel from the outside.

Im not sure how they gonna blame hookers here.:)

Not sure about the hookers mention.

But would it not be a good idea to recruit foreign police to come over her before and for the WC, give them powers to carry weapons and arrest.

Protecting their own citizens etc

If I remember correctly the Dutch have issued a warning to people travelling here that they should not wear the Orange to avoid being targeted.

Would be real Kool if undercover foreign police, trailed by local under covers, could test the resolve of these crooks.

Shoot on site, "we were threatened" by weapons, we do this in Eu/US/Aus/Jap/South America.

would set a nice precedent IMHO.

You can't harm a cop!!!

He/she has the means to defend etc

Ahh pie in the sky me thinks.

Funny thing is those copes came here to learn and observe from over copes.
