Hi guys

We host a software as service application with Digital Ocean in The Netherlands, and since yesterday (2020-06-29) we've noticed some clients experiencing loss of connectivity to the platform. There seems to break in connectivity (which definitely affects AfriHost users).

Is anyone aware of any ongoing breaks in international connectivity from SA?

Here is a traceroute if that helps:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.8.1
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 5 ms 4 ms 5 ms 165.73.14.17
4 5 ms 4 ms 4 ms 169.1.21.232
5 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms 169.1.21.233
6 7 ms 6 ms * 196.25.153.41
7 181 ms 181 ms 181 ms 10.189.30.10

On hop 6 it seems to hit a SAIX conection (rtdcj-os-cer-1-wan.osnet.co.za), hop 7 doesn't have a valid PTR record, seems like a private IP anyway.

Any info will be welcome.

Thanks ;)

There is an outage on the one link between JHB and CPT atm... doubtful it's related

Hey HartsockZA, it quite possible that it could be related. The 2nd last HOP in my traceroute is still in SA so it could be that.
Is there some place I can find more information on the outage please?

It looks like this call hit something internationally, and thereafter failed.
181ms would most likely be off-shore / Europe.

The issue HartsockZA mentioned was fixed around 1pm, it was up and down between the morning and then.
