Breakfast shopping basket price comparison — Pick n Pay beats Checkers and Woolworths

Daily Investor created a basket of ingredients for a South African breakfast and compared the online prices at the top food retailers – Checkers, Shoprite, Pick n Pay, and Woolworths.

Online food delivery is growing among middle-class South Africans, with services like Checkers Sixty60, Pick n Pay Asap!, and Woolies Dash increasing in popularity.

ASAP is great. They usually have free delivery codes and other promo codes that is more than the delivery fee so it is actually cheaper than buying in store.

5/7 days I have breakfast out. So can’t really comment here. Although I’ve seen an uptick in restaurant prices though I haven’t checked in detail.

Unsweetened oats IMO

It's like salads advertised with rocket.

It's a bloody weed
To me rocket tastes like stink bugs smell. Can't stand the stuff, especially when hipsters carry on about how fantastic it is.
