I've been through the Kei cuttings in a bus where the driver was speeding - horrible experience. That was Translux in the 90s. Our bus was late after they had to send a replacement because the original bus crashed in the cuttings. I wonder if speed was an issue here.

Ah, but at the time Translux had some of the country's best drivers. Now, not so much.
