Cabinet has approved extending the validity period for light vehicle and motorcycle driving licences from five years to 10 years, reports Newzroom Africa.

None of this makes any sense. I thought the whole point was to do regular eye tests, and to have age limits which other countries do.

P.S. I just renewed my licence last week, and I am 64.

It was never about the eye tests.

You know you did well when your license is so utterly, wholefully, unambiguously f**ing expired that even a 5 year extension (if backdated) would still make it invalid.

That said, I shall stay the course, just like with my -R9.5K TV license, we're now chasing high scores and if I ended up fixing the issue I'd feel like I lost something:
