Western Cape ANC spokesman Yonela Diko said Luthuli House’s directive for provincial leader Marius Fransman to step down pending an investigation into allegations of sexual assault against him was “rumours”.

The party’s national spokesman, Zizi Kodwa, confirmed the national working committee’s decision on live television, saying the committee reached its decision after receiving representations from other party structures.

I always thought they put him there to lose on purpose, so that the DA can win so that it seems that they country is still filled full of white racists or something in that line.

Fransman did not really have any support at the last elective conference...he was re elected, as there was no alternative...for continuity purposes, if you want. The ANC asking him to stand aside..shows, he does not enjoy support in larger party either. When days are dark, friends are few...
