As long as those shot by police are drug cartel criminals etc, I'll allow it.

More like an internal dispute, HR can handle it.

This is hectic. Considering popularity of Brazil as tourism destination, I suppose tourists don't get impacted much ? I mean such gang areas must be quite known for tourists to avoid, isn't it ?

It won't be too different to South Africa or even Mexico I'd imagine.

Cape Town is a prime tourist destination, but you don't go eff around in the Cape Flats. Or you go to the touristy parts of Soweto if you want to get a taste of township life and not take a drive through Alexandra. Mexico is still a popular holiday destination for Americans, but you stick to popular tourist routes and don't go off into cartel country.

So, you went and found the video?

I warned you about going down that rabbit hole.
Yeah, curiosity got the better of me. Sometimes you forget that it's actually real life and not a movie, that schit actually happened to someone.

The more fcked up thing is after that I went looking for more. Don't think anything I see will faze me now...

Yep. Same thing for me, but as mentioned in the other thread, I had to stop because I didn't feel lekker watching that stuff anymore.

I have been through Alexandra. It is a bit hectic but it is not as dangerous as it is made out to be. I mean we had shooting in Sandton city couple of times too. Same as Alex then.

I used to dropoff my colleague there.

Just going off of what my colleagues say. My offices are about 5 kms away from Alex and the guys I work with won't move there. They'd rather commute from Soweto. There are other guys in our office park that live there and I've dropped them off on Marlboro Drive and they have also told me that Alex is hectic.

EDIT: Its obviously not a war zone, but it is pretty harsh environment. I know recent SAPS stats indicate that there has been a massive uptick in rape and general violence against women. Much higher than either the Gauteng or national averages.

They don't want you to be in their house.
